My father-in-law is a pensioner in his 80s, and he stopped into Herdsman Auto Service just before closing after a warning light came on his dash. Even though it was the end of the day, the team took the time to check the car for him. They quickly identified the issue, fixed it on the spot, and wouldn't accept any payment. I was recommended by a friend to take my car to Herdsman Auto after receiving a dishonest and excessive quote from Nissan. John was very friendly and honest, was able to determine the problem very quickly (a split in my radiator) as promised. He gave me a couple of different price options, and was able to fit me in a few days later to complete the job and I was able to pick the car up the same day, and it cost me half of what Nissan quoted me. The communication was great he called me to keep me updated and explained everything to me, my car has been driving like a dream since, and very pleased to have found a local, friendly and honest mechanic for the future. I have had several services on different cars over the last few years carried out at HAS. They have always done a great job. Shan is not only a great mechanic but also has great customer service skills. Just had the VW Golf serviced and they have done an excellent job again. John is a true professional, my car was recently serviced at the dealership where I purchased my car. I was told my car needed all sorts of repairs which was going to cost me a small fortune. I phoned John and he squeezed me in the next day and after inspecting my car  only one of five listed issues needed to be repaired straight away and was much more reasonably priced than what I was originally quoted. The little old Veloster was suffering from some serious old age issues, but John and the team were up to the diagnosis and surgery. This is a great service centre: on time, good value for money, and excellent quality of work. Had my car serviced with John and the Herdsman Auto team for a second time and was once again really happy with the quality of service and the friendly approach of the team. I think the service is good value for money and I never feel pressured into unnecessary repairs or products which just further makes me feel like Herdsman Auto are genuine, trustworthy and will only suggest repairs if they actually need to be done. I can see some people below complaining about the fact that John's team identified an issue and didn't immediately fix it, but I actually really appreciated this. The team did a full service and did all the general maintenance (which I already had an approximate estimate cost for and was a really good, robust service) but then also found another issue with my car. Instead of 'just doing it' John sourced a quote for materials and labour for the repair which I could then use to factor into my budget and decide when I'd able to afford the repair. John also gave me an estimate of how quickly I'd need to get it repaired so that I could factor that into my consideration. When you're dealing with potentially expensive repairs I think this is a really considerate approach and it gives me confidence that the Herdsman Auto team will never just force a repair on me that I can't afford. I think it's also important to bear in mind that your car was scheduled in for a service, which takes a certain amount of time and labour. Adding repairs into that inevitably adds time and labour required, which can't always be facilitated on the spot due to other customer requirements. John taking the time to explain this to me and get me a quote for repairs means that when I book my car in for the repair, we'll both know exactly how much time it will take and also what the requirements are financially and labour wise. This means that I will once again get that superior quality of customer service and care (as will every other customer booked in that day!) and I won't be promised anything that can't be delivered which I believe is so important. Communication is key and John and the Herdsman Auto team consistently deliver that. I'm once again very happy with the service and look forward to getting my repair sorted very soon!

John contacted me promptly after submitting my enquiry and I booked in the car for the following week. I knew that there were a couple of issues with the cooling system but didn't know what the specifics were. The issues were identified and fixed that day after being contacted for my approval.
